From Corporate to Hollywood: My Story
Like you, I started in the corporate world. I had a stable job, but what I really wanted was to work in film, travel, and build an exciting life on my own terms.
At first, I did what everyone says to do – took random film classes and tried networking events. But I was still on the outside looking in, making no real progress toward my dream.
Then I discovered something game-changing: The film industry was actively looking for people with professional experience. I just needed to position myself the right way.
Once I understood this, everything shifted. I learned how to leverage the film work happening around me and engineered my way into the industry’s ecosystem. More importantly, I developed the mindset and professional presence that keeps you working consistently on film sets.
Today, I work with Hollywood’s biggest names – from Oscar-winning directors like Damien Chazelle and Antoine Fuqua to stars like Taylor Swift and Zendaya. After 30 years in the business (25 as a department head), I’m at the top of my game, working on million-dollar productions every week in LA.
